During our third-year commercial assignment (Netherlands Film Academy) we had the privilege to have the National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden) as our client. In small crews we created several commercials. The rules: one shooting day, a minimum budget and a duration of approximately 45 seconds. My job was creating a matte-painting resembling a landscape of Ancient Egypt. Although it got blurred out in the final shot, I still wanted to make something with a little more detail for myself. The pyramids and river are painted by hand, the rest is all stock footage. September 2017.
